This mug was made with gestural clay coneflowers swiped across the body with lego and play-doh roller textures. Next it is dipped in a flashing slip that will interact with the atmosphere of the soda kiln, giving it variations in color and a warmer clay body. 

This piece is a part of my on going Beautiful Mundane series in which I record textures on to the surface of the clay that represent my life at home with my children. Finding beauty in the every day.
