This wood-fired mug is layered with an orange flashing slip (which shows a pattern of flame from the wood kiln) over textures made by hand along with play-doh tools from my children.
 
This piece is a part of my on going Beautiful Mundane series in which I record textures on to the surface of the clay that represent my life at home with my children.
